(From Bland-Brumback Funeral Home)Raymond Lee Neill, 84 of Fair Play, MO, passed away at his home on September 27, 2020. Raymond was born on April 26, 1936, to Henry and Twila (Compton) Neill.
He married his wife, Irene Witt, of 63 years, on April 25, 1957, and to this union 3 children were born. Russell Neill, of Fair Play, MO, Tammie (Bob) Papenfuhs of Stockton, MO and Patty Neill of Lockwood, MO.
He is survived by his grandchildren Ashley Beckley, Brandon (Christie) Beckley, Dusty Timmons and Melissa (Derrick) Johnson. Great grandchildren consist of Reagan and Riley Stapp, Colton Beckley, Haliena Aman, Olivia Beckley and Taylor and Tinley Johnson. One sister Wilda Ross.
He was preceded in death by his 5 brothers and 1 sister.
Raymond graduated from Dadeville High School in 1954. After marriage he went to work and helped build the Stockton Dam. Later he worked for Carl White Oil Company while also farming. His farm consisted of row cropping corn and beans and raising hogs and cattle. He was also a Cedar County board member for soil and water and the FSA (Farm Service Agency).
Raymond was a loving family man who cherished time with his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed, and he leaves them with many happy memories.
Raymond really enjoyed the hobby of turkey hunting. He could just hear a turkey gobble and he was off to hunt it down. He would take anyone, family or friends on a hunt. Anyone who knew him was also familiar with his unique question “Do you know how to rabbit dance?” and if you didn’t, he could be sure to show you how.
Funeral services will be Wednesday September 30, 2020 @ 2 PM at Bland/ Brumback funeral home with burial @ Lindley Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday September 29,2020 from 6-7 PM @ the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Kansas City, MO
