(From Simpson Funeral Home)James L. Williams age 72 of Neck City, Missouri passed away on Monday, September 14, 2020 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin. He was born on October 12, 1947 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Jesse Williams and Dorcus Bernice (Gore) Williams.
James was a computer analyst for John Deere in Coffeyville, Kansas until his retirement. He graduated from Carthage High School in 1965 and went on to earn his Bachelors of Science degree from Missouri Southern State University. James loved to work on old classic cars and to tinker around with his 1956 Thunderbird. He attended Purcell Baptist Church.
James married Karen (Henson) Williams on June 27, 1970 in Alba, Missouri and she survives him.
He is also survived by his daughters, Jaime Williams of Neck City, Lori (Henson) Dennis of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Lauren Gilpin, Dylon Dennis, Dakota Dennis, and Tegan Dennis.
James was preceded in death by his son, Jason Williams.
The family will have a memorial service at Purcell Baptist Church on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 11:00 AM with Jim Laws officiating.
