Billy McVey

Billy Gene McVey, age 91, of Aurora, Missouri, passed away at 9:05 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2020, at the Ozarks Methodist Manor in Marionville, Missouri. He was born November 10, 1928, in Miller, Missouri, the son of Alvin and Pearl (Kessinger) McVey.

Billy lived in the Aurora community most of his life. He was a 1947 graduate of Aurora High School, was an active member and on the board of the Aurora United Methodist Church and a member of the Aurora Lions Club and served on the Aurora City Council. Along with his wife Jeane they owned McVey Rentals and Mini Storage, which is now a family owned operation.

On October 11, 1947, he married Norma Jeane Hull in Aurora. She preceded him in death on December 2, 2010.









Billy is survived by his daughter, Sherrie George and her husband, Robert, of Aurora; three sons, Rick McVey and his wife, Marcy, of Carthage, Missouri, Kelli McVey and his wife, Barbara, of Aurora and Kim McVey and his wife, Elissa, of Verona, Missouri; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Pearl, wife, Jeane and three sisters.

A graveside service, under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, in Aurora, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2020, at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to the Ozarks Methodist Manor, in care of the funeral home.
