(From Clark Funeral Home)Billie R. (Gofourth) Stewart, Neosho, MO, age 77, passed away September 14, 2020 after a brief battle with cancer. She was born April 6, 1943 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to William French Gofourth and Daisy Ruth (Hale) Gofourth.
Billie grew up in Neosho, MO where she graduated from high school in 1961. She also attended Joplin Junior College. She was best known as an artist, painting acrylics, watercolors and pen and inks of local buildings for the local historical society.
She was also known for painting the second floor mural in the Newton County Courthouse on the square, along with Julie Olds from Seneca, MO.
Billie is survived by her son, Cameron Stewart; daughter-in-law, Emily; granddaughter Jordan; grandson Ian, all from Fernandina Beach, Florida; one brother; Bob Gofourth, and his wife Jody, from Redings Mill area.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jim Stewart. Billie was a faithful Christian and enjoyed being a Sunday School Teacher.
A Memorial Visitation will be Thursday, September 24, 2020 at 1:00pm at Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Neosho.
