Sharon Burnett

(From Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home)

Sharon Kay Burnett, 74, of Diamond, Missouri, passed suddenly on Tuesday, September 8, 2020.

Sharon entered this life on January 21, 1946 in Diamond, to the union of the late Hershel and Lucille (Fenimore) Shull. She was a 1964 graduate of Duenweg High School.

For more than forty years she owned and operated Trendsetter Beauty Salon in Sarcoxie. Sharon was a daughter, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and a cat great-grandmother. Some knew her for sitting on her porch with a cup of coffee in hand or eating watermelon with salt in the summer. Some knew her to sit and fold each towel for her shop, happy to talk about anything. Some knew her as a beloved hair dresser in Sarcoxie.

Some knew her as the best cook there was with a home that always smelled inviting. Some people have her beautiful stitched fabric around their house and have tasted some of her incredible food. Sharon did live life to its fullest. She was busy either in her garden, cross-stitching or down by the pond. She was always cooking, baking, and eating ice cream.

She was notable for keeping in touch with her 1964 graduating class, family and friends. She was passionate about her work and her love for everyone who surrounded her. She is finally able to reunite with her Sassy, the beautiful little Jack Russell dog that kept her company. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten by her loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Burnett; brother, Hershel Shull; two sisters-in-law, Norma Shull and Roxy Shull.

Sharon is survived by her daughter, Misty Wood and husband, Jim, of Smithfield, Virginia; granddaughters, Hannah Wood of Queensland, Australia and Morgan Wood of Smithfield, Virginia; siblings, Richard Shull, of Diamond and Beverly Cossey, of Joplin; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Sharon are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home, Sarcoxie with Pastor James Yost officiating. Interment will follow in Fullerton Cemetery, Carthage.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
