(From Parker Mortuary)In Loving Memory of Harry Dean Crowder, born May 7, 1932, who passed from this life on September 16, 2020, after a short illness.
Harry was preceded in death by both parents, William and Sophia Crowder; one son, Lonnie G. Crowder; three brothers, Virgil Allen, Walton “Pete” Crowder and Yeoman Zenith Crowder; and four sisters, Freda Allen, Pauline Carpenter, Hazel Gahn and Barbara Cromer.
Harry was a 50-year member of Labor Local 319. He worked in the construction of several major buildings in the Joplin area, including Freeman and St. John’s Hospitals. Harry was a Sunday School Superintendent and Deacon at Landmark Tabernacle for over 25 years.
He has left behind his wife of 69 years, Dorothy M. Crowder, whom he married on August 26, 1951; one son, Montie L. Crowder; two daughters-in-law, Sheila and Rose Crowder; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 21, 2020, at Landmark Tabernacle with burial following at Carl Junction Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday from 6-7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary in Joplin.
