Arturo “Art” Gregorio Montez passed away peacefully Sunday September 13th 2020 at the age of 73. He was born November 21st 1946 to Mr. George Montez and Mrs. Genevieve Montez.
The oldest of eight siblings, he is preceded in death by his father George Montez and his sister Esther Amayo.
He is survived by his mother Genevieve Montez, siblings Florentino and Sylvia Cortez, Steve and Carol Montez, Benny and Trisha Montez, Gloria and Claude Cupp, Johnny and Janet Montez, Landie and Jason Sohosky, 4 children, Clint, Nick, Erica, and Denise, and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Art served in the Vietnam War and received a bronze star for his service.
There will be a graveside gathering at the Mausoleum of Memories Open Air Chapel at Ozark Memorial Cemetery on Monday September 21st at 1pm, followed by a celebration of life at VFW in Joplin from 2pm to 5pm.
