(From Clark Funeral Home)Ben Love, 98, Diamond, MO entered into rest October 21, 2020. He was born April 5, 1922 in Diamond to Bertha (Clary) and Ben Love.
Ben was a lifelong Diamond resident. He served in the US Navy Air Corp during WWII. He also worked as a claims adjuster for Shelter Insurance. Ben was a member of the First Christian Church of Diamond; a longtime member of the VFW, the American Legion, and Forty and Eight. He enjoyed bird hunting and fly fishing. Ben had been in charge of the Diamond Cemetery for over fifty years.
He and Billie Charlene Whitten were married August 31, 1940 in Bentonville, AR; she preceded him in death on July 10, 2013.
Ben is survived by his son, Mike Love and wife, Edie of Siloam Springs, AR; one sister, Dorothy Corner of Republic, MO; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents,
Ben was preceded in death by a daughter, Colleen Stroud; a granddaughter, Kelly; and a sister, Vera Spandle.
Services will be 2:00 pm, Monday, October 26, 2020 at Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, MO. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until service time on Monday at the Funeral Home.
