Opal Hildreth

Mrs. Opal Marie Hildreth, 94, of Joplin, Missouri, formerly of Grove, Oklahoma, departed this life on Monday evening, October 19, 2020, in the comfort of her home.

Opal entered this life on June 22, 1926, in Ottawa County Oklahoma near Wyandotte, one of six children born to the late James and Flora Bell (Richie) Conduff. 

She was a lifelong area resident and a homemaker throughout her life. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and spending countless hours with her family. Opal was of the Assembly of God faith. 








She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands, Raymond Mathia and Robert Hildreth; two children, Ralph and Evelyn Mathia; a grandson, Richard Mathia; four brothers; and one sister.

Opal is survived by her best friend and companion, James Wiand; her six children, Larry Mathia and wife, Mary, of Wyandotte, Jim Mathia, and wife, Jenean, of Grove, Carol Rountree and husband, David, of Miami, Oklahoma, Debbie Farmer and husband, Eddie, of Joplin, Dennis Mathia of Noel and Sheila Dickens and husband, Nick, of Granby; nine grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; sixteen great-great grandchildren; as well as a host of other family and friends.



Graveside services are 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2020 at Howard Cemetery near Turkey Ford in rural Delaware County Oklahoma with Tony Kinzer officiating. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Jimmie Dale Mathia, Kenneth Mathia, Justin Farmer, Jason Farmer, Ellsworth Amos, IV and Luke Armbrister.
