Carol Townsend

Carol Sue Townsend of Carthage, MO passed from this life Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO. She was 78.

Carol was born March 25, 1942 in Hockerville, OK to Joe Franklin and Elnora Mae (Kearney) Parker. She had lived in the Quapaw and Miami area most of her life. 

Carol was a registered nurse working at Miami Baptist Hospital for over 30 years and after retirement was a volunteer at Integris Miami Hospital. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Miami, OK.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband Paul Townsend October 22, 2019 and her parents.

Carol is survived by 1 son Paul Townsend and wife Teresa of Carthage, MO, 2 brothers Bob Parker of Wichita, KS and Ed Parker of Ketchi, KS, 2 sisters Gladys Couch of Arkansas and Ruthie McKinzie of Derby, KS, 6 step grandchildren Caleb Fierro, Courtney Hicks, Jaylin Haney, Julien Haney, Jordan Haney and Josiah Moller and 1 step great granddaughter Hazel Hicks.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 22, 2020 at First Baptist Church in Miami, OK. Rev. Rick Longcrier will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday prior to the service at the First Baptist Church in Miami, OK.
