(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)James “Jim” H. Arnold, age 79, of Joplin, MO, passed away on October 29, 2020, at his home, following an illness.
Jim was born on November 18, 1940 in Joplin the son of the late John Henry and Lena (Shepard) Arnold. He has been a lifetime area resident.
He worked as the supervisor of the printing department for St. John’s Hospital for forty-seven years, retiring in 2006. He was a member of a Bowling League, The NRA, and The Joplin Rifle and Pistol Club. He enjoyed woodworking and reading. He loved his dogs, especially “Buddy."
Jim married the love of his life. Sharron Hailey on July 10, 1981 in Joplin. She preceded him in death on April 11, 2007. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Marsha Arnold.
Jim is survived by four children, Darren Gallup and wife Kara, Lockwood, MO, Laurie Mitchell and husband Clay, Joplin, Alma Ladouceur and husband Troy, Joplin MO, and Karren Phillips and companion Jeremy Hood, Joplin, MO; fourteen grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.
A Graveside Committal of Ashes will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
