(From Daniel Funeral Home)Gilbert Ronald Bergman, age 81, of Lee's Summit, Missouri went to be with his Heavenly Father on October 17, 2020, in Independence, Missouri.
Ron was born January 5, 1939 in Nashville, MO to Gilbert Raymond and Gertrude Irene (McNeely) Bergman. He graduated from Jasper High School in the class of 1957. On May 30, 1959 he married Dixie Sue Sharp in Jasper, MO and she passed in 2012. He married Rita Myers in 2013 and she survives of the home.
Ron worked as a supervisor at O'Sullivan Industries for 40 years and owned and operated Bergman Custom Workshop. He was a member of the Iantha United Methodist Church.
Aside from woodworking Ron enjoyed reading, traveling, spending time with his family, friends, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be remembered by his constant smile and love of conversation with anyone he came in contact with. Ron didn’t know a stranger and touched so many lives in the community.
Ron is survived by his wife Rita; a son, Randy Bergman, Iantha, MO; a daughter, Rhonda (Jim) Yates, Lamar, MO; three step-sons, Steve (Pamela) Myers, Russellville, AR, James (Paige) Myers, Belton, MO, and David Myers, Lee's Summit, MO; two sisters, Emma Wooten, Humboldt, KS and Juanita Johnston, Dallas, TX; two grandsons, Josh (Wendy) Myers, Webb City, MO and Ryan (Sarah) Myers, Ozark, MO; nine great-grandchildren, Whitman, Hudson, Eirelyn, Killian, Finnigan, Myla, Darby, Rachel and Maewyn, as well as a host of extended family and friends.
Preceding Ron in death were his parents, his first wife Dixie, and a brother Raymond Bergman.
Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 22, 2020, at Waters Cemetery, Jasper, MO. Services will be officiated by James Myers.
