Nancy Stornetta

Nancy Carol Stornetta was born January 25, 1945 in Neosho, Missouri, the daughter of Ira Lee and Erma Edna (Harris) Smith. She entered into rest on February 28, 2021 in Joplin, following a sudden illness at the age of 76. 

Nancy was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Neosho High School class of 1963. She had worked at Nicsinger Uniform and at La-Z-Boy Midwest in the sewing department. Nancy enjoyed sewing, collecting things and drawing with her granddaughter. She was a member of the VFW. 

Nancy and Robert Stornetta were married on March 25, 2000 in Neosho and he preceded her in death on July 19, 2007. 

She is survived by two children, John (Melanie) Weems of Neosho and Jenny (Eric) Hammar of Las Vegas, Nevada; five grandchildren, Larkin Muskrat, Riley Odell, Amanda, Nick and Jake Hammar; two brothers, J.D. Smith of South Carolina and Jerry Smith of Stark City and one sister, Linda Harris of Neosho. 

In addition to her husband, Robert, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Marvin Weems, her parents and a brother, Jim Smith.
