Bruce Impson

Bruce McQueen Impson, 65, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 2, 2021.

Bruce was born on October 17, 1956 in Norman Oklahoma. He grew up in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, and was a graduate of Wynnewood High School. Bruce relocated to the Joplin, Missouri area in 1995. 

On August 24, 1996 he was united in marriage to Diana White in Carthage, Missouri. 








Bruce was a welder by trade and had worked for New Aire and Faubion Construction. He was a tribal member of the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes as well as a member of Bykota Church in Carthage. He enjoyed Powwow’s, putting together model cars, camping, archery, cooking on the grill and was an OU and Packers fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bon and Helen (McQueen) Impson; siblings, Sammy Lee and Carol Lee; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Earl and Carmen White.

Bruce is survived by his wife Diana of the home; children, Starla Impson, Barron Impson, both of Oklahoma City, and Eric White and wife, Misty, of Carthage; grandchildren, K.P. Hutchins, Gabryela (Gabby) Hutchins, Ayasha Hutchins, Aayden Hutchins, Jaydon Hutchins, Haydon Hutchins, Bradley Impson, Cheyenne Impson, Barron Schmidt, Shaylinn Schmidt and Travis White; brother, Brian Impson, of Wynnewood; sister-in-law’s, Victoria Kilpatrick, of Carthage, Cheryl Estes-Rose and husband, Kevin, of Jasper and Nancy Estes and husband, Mike, of Oronogo; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Bruce are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie, with Pastor John Petticrew officiating. Burial will follow at Emmanuel Cemetery, Carthage. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Tyler Hall, James Estes, Trevor Larimore, Forest Bergheger, Westley Estes and Tad Garrison. Honorary pallbearers are Shawn White, Michael Larimore, Erik Amsden, Vincent Estes, David Estes and Hunter Winans. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
