(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Ray Dean Degraffenreid, age 93, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021.
Ray was born June 28, 1928 in Hockerville, Oklahoma to Charles “Bud” and Bessie (Davidson) Degraffenreid.
He married Marguerite McCallister on May 06, 1950. Together they raised one son, Joe. Ray and Marguerite were married for 69 years until her death in October 2019.
Ray was a truck driver for many years beginning at age 14 driving for Smith Ice and Coal, Webb City, Missouri and retiring after 43 years on the road. He ended his driving career with Flex-O-Lator, Carthage, Missouri in 1991.
Ray is survived by his son, Joe Degraffenreid and wife Lisa of Diamond, MO; Grandson Cody Degraffenreid and wife Christina of Joplin, MO; Great Grandson Rory Degraffenreid, Neosho, MO; as well as siblings Mary Bohnstedt, Bernita Pence, and Glen Degraffenreid.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite; brothers Royal Degraffenreid, Richard Degraffenreid, Jerry Degraffenreid, Jack Degraffenreid, and sisters Shirley Williams, and Susan Hunt.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Stone Cemetery in care of Mason Woodard.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Stone Cemetery, Diamond, MO.
Family will receive friends after the service at 15545 Acorn Road, Diamond.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
