(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Chester Leon Pendergraft, 76, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away on June 21, 2023, at his home. Chester was born on November 20, 1946, in Elgin, Kansas, to Chester H. Pendergraft and Mary (Russow) Pendergraft. He was a long-time resident of Carthage.
He worked at Steadley Manufacturing in Carthage for 32 years and after, worked at Cardinal Scale in Webb City for 20 years. Chester enjoyed hunting and fishing, but he loved showing off his 1923 T Bucket at the car shows.
Chester is survived by his daughter Samantha Dabyns of Bursidis, Ohio; one brother, Henry Pendergraft of Carthage, Missouri ; and one sister, Patty Causby of Reeds, Missouri.
He is preceded in death by three sisters, Martha Pendergraft, Frankie Briscoe, and Teresa Pendergraft.
There will be a graveside service for Chester at 2:00 pm on Monday, June 26, 2023, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Carthage, Missouri. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:30 pm on Monday, June 26, 2023, at the Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage.
