(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Joel Wesley Davenport, 71 of Joplin, MO passed from this life on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at his home surrounded by family.
Joel was born March 14, 1952 in Kansas City, KS to the union of Wesley Davenport and Goldie (Remer) Davenport. Joel worked as a respiratory therapist at KU Medical Center until retirement and moved to Joplin, MO. He enjoyed reading and was a member of the South Joplin Christian Church, where he was known for his sweet smile that he greeted you with.
Joel is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his brother, Les Davenport (Terry) of Joplin, MO; sister, Barbara Miller of Centerville, Iowa; niece and nephew, Wanda and Lester Stull of Centerville, Iowa; along with his South Joplin Christian Church Family.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 30, 2023 at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Joel has been entrusted to Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel for cremation.
