Liberty Fowler

Liberty Lenae Fowler, age 20, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 in Joplin.

The daughter of James "Gabe" Fowler and Bonnie Jean Mills was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on December 13, 2002. She was a 2021 graduate of St. Joe High School and moved to Joplin after graduating.

Liberty loved playing basketball and tennis. She had a passion for animals, including wild animals. She had a particular affinity for the free and misunderstood – animals and people. 





She enjoyed fishing, hiking, and going to the creek. She loved being outdoors and was always active. Liberty was a caring, free spirit and lived life to the fullest. She was a jokester and loved pulling pranks on her family and friends.

She loved her family and friends and was loved deeply by all who knew her. Liberty was a wildflower that grew wherever she was planted.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Donna Mills, grandfather, Robert Fowler, cousin, James Bing, great grandmother, Madge Fowler, and great aunt, Billie Yancey.

Liberty is survived by her mother, Bonnie Jean Mills (Darin Chiodo) of Joplin, MO; her father, James “Gabe” Fowler (Loretta Dudgeon) of St. Joe; her siblings, Ianna J. Reyes (Manuel Reyes), Robert Fowler (Haley Phillips), Avery Stacy, Jacob Dudgeon, and Andrew Haldeman; three nephews, Jibril Fowler, Manny Reyes, and Vincent Reyes; grandmother, Lorraine Fowler of St. Joe, grandfather, Tom Mills of Decatur, AR; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended relatives and many dear friends.








Funeral service will be at 10 AM, Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison with Fonda Denny officiating. Graveside service and burial will follow at Western Grove Cemetery with Terry Knapp officiating.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Robert Fowler, Darin Chiodo, Austin Fowler, T.J. Mills, Jacob Dudgeon, Avery Baker, and Ethan Cash.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local humane society or no-kill shelter in her memory.
