Wanda Caldwell

Wanda Pearl Caldwell, 82, Neosho, passed away May 16, 2015, following a short illness. 

Wanda was born March 21, 1933 in Picher, Oklahoma, the sixth of eight children to Robert and Hazel (Clark) Kirk. She attended schools in Granby, Missouri and on June 9, 1950, married Curtis Stephen Caldwell in Neosho and two children were born of this marriage, Stephen Caldwell, Jr and Sheree Lynn Caldwell-Buhr. She and Curtis spent the early part of their married life traveling and working on the pipe lines. They returned to Neosho in 1956 and she was a homemaker. She worked briefly as a manicurist and Curtis was a self-employed carpenter in the Neosho area. In later years, Wanda loved to work in her yard and play cards with friends and especially loved visiting with her great granddaughters. She was a Christian and previously attended the First Christian Church of Neosho. 

Wanda is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis in December, 1996, her parents and five siblings, Dorthea Kirk, Gerald Kirk, Helen Holt-Hart, Louise Kirk and Rose Ann Gore. She is survived by her two children, Stephen Caldwell, Jr. and wife, Gretchen of Joplin and Sheree Lynn Buhr and husband, Al of Neosho; two siblings, Ione Yost of Afton, Oklahoma and Bob Kirk of Webster, Texas; three grandchildren, Rachel Caldwell Mullins and husband, Chris, Stephanie Hessee and husband, Eric and Vince Schoonover and three great granddaughters.


Funeral service was held May 20, 2015, 11:00 AM at Clark Chapel of Memories
