Charles R. Murray age 78 of Joplin, Mo passed away Thursday April 30, 2015 at the Mercy Hospital of Joplin.
He was born on July 26, 1936 in Pratt, Ks the son of Lee and Sarah “Carmichael” Murray. Charles married Sarah Meredith on February 12, 1955 in Isabell, Ks. He was a retired military veteran serving his country in the United States Army. He moved to Joplin to help with the Joplin High School ROTC program. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW Post 534 of Joplin.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. Survivors include his wife Sarah of the home, a son Jim Murray and wife Danielle of Montgomery, Tx, a daughter Suzi Murray of Carthage, Mo and five grandchildren: Annie Hershew, C.J. Johnson, Meredith Murray, Mary Hershewe, and Colton Murray.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday May 4, 2014 at the Osborne Cemetery Joplin, Mo. The family suggests contributions to the Disabled American Veterans in care of the Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
