Hazel I. Horton Hazel went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 11, 2015 in Wichita, Kansas.
Hazel was from the Grove and Pryor Oklahoma area and moved to Wichita, Kansas to be near her family. She was born April 12, 1918 in Webb City, Missouri to Melville and Sarah and Cully.
She was united in marriage to L. O. “Pete” Horton on March 4, 1939. He preceded her in death on March 15, 1987. She was a member and soloist of the First Baptist Church of Grove, Oklahoma for 33 years. She moved to Pryor, Oklahoma in 2005 and attended First Baptist Church of Pryor, Oklahoma. She came to know the Lord at the age of 12. The Lord came first in her life and her church and family were very precious to her. She is survived by 3 grandchildren and their mates, Michelle and Dr. Kevin Hamm of Wichita, Kansas, Joe and Rebecca Horton of Claremore, Oklahoma. Rochelle and Matthew Butcher of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, 5 great grandchildren Aaron and Zack Hamm, Sadie Horton Lott and Jordon Horton, and Jamie Stockham, and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her son Gary Horton and daughter in law Sharron Horton of Pryor, Oklahoma, two sisters Opal Cully Murphy and Catherine Cully Harrison and one brother Ucal Cully.
Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday September 19, 2015 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be at Park Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.ulmerfh.com.
