(From Weng Funeral Chapel)Gwenda Greer, age 80, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.
Gwenda was born on April 3, 1945. She was united in marriage to William (Bill) Greer, who preceded her in death. Together, they spent most of their married life in Maxwell, Iowa, where they raised their family—a place that remained especially close to Gwenda’s heart.

She was a proud grandmother to four grandchildren: Travis (Rachel) McCarthy, Casey McCarthy (Thomas Healdsburg), Kyle (Sami) Fausch, and Cory (Hunter) Fausch. Gwenda was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Aubrei (age 10) and Skylar (age 7), children of Kyle and Sami Fausch.
Gwenda had a special gift with children and truly delighted in spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A beloved mother, wife, and grandmother, Gwenda’s life centered around her family, her church, and a deep appreciation for nature. She especially loved flowers and spending time outdoors, watching bald eagles and pelicans at Red Rock and Big Creek—moments that brought her peace and joy.
Gwenda will be remembered for her kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering love for her family. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
