Vernon L. Button, 91 of Neosho, MO, died June 5, 2017 at Mercy Hospital, following a short illness.
Vernon was born June 18, 1925 in McDonald County, Missouri and was a lifelong area resident. He had worked at Big Smith, La Z Boy and was a cattle farmer. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church.
Vernon and Dorothy Lee Pogue were married on Aug. 14, 1945 in Neosho and she preceded him in death on Jan. 7, 2016. Vernon is survived by a granddaughter, Christina Johnson and husband, Michael; great granddaughter, Victoria Johnson; sister, Dottie Mitchell and daughter in law, Shirley Button, all who reside in Neosho. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Eddie Button on Dec. 31, 1993.
Services will be on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 1 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Dr. Jerry Seigel will officiate. Interment will follow in the Neosho IOOF Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 6:30 at the funeral home.
