Ernest Young

Mr. Ernest Harold Young, 84, a longtime resident of Noel, Missouri, departed this life on Friday evening, September 29, 2017, in the comfort of his home after months of declining health.

Ernest entered this life on January 9, 1933, in Everton, Arkansas, son of the late Carl Everton and Lillie Myrtle (Bridges) Young. He was raised in Green Forest, Arkansas and was a graduate of Green Forest High School. He furthered his education at Freed-Hardman University in Henderson, Tennessee. On September 9, 1956, he was united in marriage to Natalie Jane Brady and to this union three children were born. In 1957, they moved to Noel, Missouri, where they lovingly raised their family. For nearly forty years he was employed by Aerospace Industries in Neosho as a machinist, retiring in 1996. He was also pastor of the Southwest City Church of Christ for several years. He enjoyed raising chickens, spending time in his garden and beekeeping. Ernest was a member of the Noel Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of fifty-seven years, Natalie Young on June 10, 2014; one brother, Howard Young; and three sisters, Edith Fultz, Ruby Briner and Joyce Clymer.

Ernest is survived by one son, David Young and wife, Vicki, of Noel; two daughters, Rebecca Boling and husband, Danny, of Gravette, Arkansas and Karen Davis and husband, Steve, of The Colony, Texas; six grandchildren, Dwayne Young, Kerri Boling, Kendra Meredith, Kayla Willim, Derek Davis and Sydney Davis; a great granddaughter, Mackenzie Young; three sisters, Mary Darby of Kansas City, Kansas, Linda Roberts of Green Forest, Arkansas and Patricia Young of Afton, Oklahoma; a brother, Carl Wayne Young of Green Forest; his caregivers, Patrick and Ashlee Nash; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Young are 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 7, 2017, at the Noel Church of Christ with Pastor Dick Lett and Steve Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Noel Cemetery. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Steve Davis, Derek Davis, Patrick Nash, Tim Roberts, Dwayne Young and Brad Meredith. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. in the Noel Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes. Memorials are being directed to the Noel Cemetery Care Fund c/o the funeral home.
