Barbara Herrin

Barbara Jean Herrin, 85, passed away Nov. 26, 2018 at her Goodman home. She was born Feb. 24, 1933 in McNatt, MO to Bion F. and Ferne (Ferguson) Tennison.

 Barbara was a lifelong resident of the Goodman area. She worked as a teller for Goodman State Bank and as secretary for Goodman Baptist Church. She had been a member of Goodman Baptist Church since 1946, where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and working in the church library. Barbara had held a pilot’s license since 1970. 

She and Calvin Herrin were married in Bentonville, MO on Aug. 9, 1950; he survives. Barbara is also survived by her son Stephen Herrin and wife, Jean of Neosho; one grandson, Sam; three great grandchildren, Austin, Madison, and Colton; a sister, Pat Tennison of Kansas City, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, John Tennison and a sister, Maxine Vandergriff.

Services will be 10 am, Thursday, Nov. 29 at Goodman Baptist Church, with Pastor James Townsend officiating. Interment will follow at Howard Cemetery, Goodman with Sam Herrin, Austin Herrin, Colton Herrin, Isaac Townsend, Doug Widener and Darin Widener serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 4 pm until 6 pm on Wednesday at Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
