Peggy L. Abbott age 92 of Overland Park, Kansas passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018. She was born on September 8, 1926 in Webb City, Missouri to Thomas Linley and Ethel (Panel) Linley.
Peggy was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri and a former member of the First Baptist Church in Webb City. She loved to teach Sunday school, and spend time with her family all while being an excellent housewife taking care of the family. Peggy graduated from the Oklahoma Baptist University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts.
She married Byron Abbott in Webb City at the First Baptist Church and he preceded her in death in 2008.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Sherre Lane and husband Pat of Springfield, Missouri; son, Linley Abbott and wife Lorraine of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; grandchildren, Matthew Lane, Jennifer Ensz and husband Michael, Benjamin Abbott, David Abbott; great grandchildren, Graham Ensz and Colton Ensz. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Douglas Joel Abbott.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Mount Hope Cemetery in Webb City. Services are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City. Visit www.simpsonfh.com for online condolences.
