Peggy Stehm

Peggy V. Stehm, age 90, of Choteau, Oklahoma, a longtime Joplin-Duenweg resident, passed away on November 8, 2018, at Meadow Brook Nursing Home in Choteau, Ok.

Peggy was born on April 12, 1928 in Centralia Ks., the daughter of the late William and Mary (Scott) Rhoades. She was raised in Sarcoxie, Mo. She married Walter Stehm on February 15, 1947 and together they raised two daughters. She was a loving wife mother and grandmother. She worked as a head cashier and bookkeeper for Food Town for twenty-five years. While in Joplin she attended Calvary Church of the Nazarene. She babysat many children throughout her life. She enjoyed hand quilting baby quilts.

She was preceded in death by her husband of seventy-one years on February 14, 2018. Peggy is survived by two daughters, Robin Graue, and Mona Newcomb and husband Newly, all of Pryor, Ok.; one sister, Aileen Stehm, Joplin; five grandchildren, Jamey Graue (Sara) and Shannon Brewer (Cory), all of Carthage, Mo., Molly Reed (Mike), Locust Grove, Ok., Carmen Bell (David), Vienna, Va., and Ashlie Pogue, Sapulpa, Ok.; and twelve great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Reverend Jim Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a time of visitation at 10:00 a.m. Friday prior to the service.
