Clark Coppinger

Clark G. Coppinger 78, Neosho, entered into rest on Nov. 25, 2018 at Medicalodge in Neosho, following an extended illness.

 Clark was born May 18, 1940 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, the son of Edward and Matilda (Thonerd) Coppinger. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and then served in the U.S. Army. Clark worked at Vickers in Joplin, 1964-1984 and then owned and operated Clark’s Painting. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was of the Baptist Faith. 

 Clark and Donna Harper-Slaughter were married on Sept. 24, 1979 in Miami, OK and she survives. Additional survivors include seven children, Jim Slaughter and wife, Mandy of Neosho; Sheila Nicsinger and husband, Frank of Winter Haven, FL; Janet Brock and husband, Alan of Chillicothe, MO; Elizabeth Black of Diamond; Martha Gosset and husband, Rick of Granby, Donna Thomas of Diamond and Andrew Coppinger of Springfield; one sister, Cindy DuVal of Joplin; three sisters in law, Joyce Harper of Monett; Shirley Harper and Mary Jayne McCandless both of Kansas City, MO; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and ten siblings. 

 Services will be held on Friday, Nov. 30, 2018 at 1 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Dr. Jerry Siegel and Pastor Alan Brock will officiate. Interment will follow in the Neosho IOOF Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Danny Harper, Jerry Harper, John Harper, Mark Carpenter, Frank Nicsinger and Casey Brock. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 7 pm at the funeral home.
