Jim Shaver

James Richard “Jim” Shaver, 77, of Tiff City, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.

He was born on January 28, 1943 in Southwest City, Missouri to the late, William Howard and Margaret Cloeine (Cooper) Shaver. Jim married Nancy Franklin on August 25, 1976 in Miami, Oklahoma. 

He was a lifelong rancher, raising cattle and training horses including two World Champions. In his youth he played baseball, basketball and was a calf roper. In addition to ranching he worked at Ozark Telephone Company in Seneca, Missouri for 13 years. Jim loved spending time with his family and could often be found in the stands of rodeos and various sporting events cheering on his sons and grandchildren.








He is preceded in death by his parents.

Jim is survived by his wife Nancy Shaver of the home and three sons; James and wife Christina Shaver of Tiff City, Missouri; Jesse and wife Jaime Shaver of Racine, MO; Zane and wife Marissa Shaver of Zena, OK; grandchildren; Ty, Sidney, Chloe, Cody, Laney, Kally, Dane, Cooper, Gracie, Quincey, Maliah and Boone; as well as a host of family, friends and neighbors who will dearly miss Jim. 

Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at New Bethel Cemetery in Anderson, Missouri. Lifelong friend and Pastor Roland Keith will officiate. Memorial contributions in loving memory of Jim may be given to the Tiff City Community Building in care of the funeral home.
