Winona Charlene Stephens, 85, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at her home in Diamond, MO. Winona was born March 6, 1935 in Miller, MO to J.C. and Bertha “Irwin” Vivian.
She lived in the Kansas City/Olathe areas from 1954 to 1993, then moved to Diamond where she lived until her passing. Prior to retirement, Winona worked as a Walmart greeter in Olathe and Webb City.
Winona was united in marriage to Robert Leslie Stephens on November 15, 1952 in Miller, MO; he preceded her in death.
Winona is survived by three sons, Rick Stephens (Alice) of Diamond, Jerry Stephens (Karen) of Fulton, MO and Charles Stephens (Judy) of Kansas City, KS; one daughter, Joyce Lutjen (Lynn) of Sedalia, MO; two sisters, Ann Gilmore of K.C., KS and Deloris Wimpsatt of Chelsie, OK; six grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Winona was preceded in death by two sons, Dennis Joe Stephens and Robbie Lee Stephens; three brothers, Edgar Laws, Seybert Laws and Carroll Dean Laws; four sisters, Velma Gardner, Marjorie Tinker, Mira McGhee and Wilda Darlene Murhurin.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 31, 2020 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Graveside services will immediately follow at 11:30 a.m. at New Hope Cemetery north of Avilla.
