It is with a broken heart I tell you...
Christopher David Schooley, 61, of Carl Junction, MO, suddenly departed this life on August 13, 2020. He was born in Joplin, MO, August 11, 1959, to James and Aldena (Waits) Schooley.
Chris was a strong, supportive and loving husband, father and friend. He loved his family and showed it every single day. He was married to the love of his life, Tara, for 33 years; they have built a wonderful life together and were so happy as long as they were together. He was so proud of his sons and their families.
He spent his career in the banking, finance and mortgage industries in the Joplin area and he loved taking care of his customers.
Chris is survived by his wife, Tara; his son, Adam and his wife Sarah; his son, Jackson Schooley and his financé Tatum Roberson; his sister, Vickie and her husband Randy Kegerries; his mother-in-law, Twila Stovern; father-in-law, Jerry and his wife Bonnie Smith; his two grandsons, Lincoln and Hudson Schooley; many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; many friends; and his dog, Gracie, who adored him.
Chris was strong in his faith and attended Christ's Church of Oronogo. He loved being outside working on his beautiful lawn, being with family and friends, going to the lake, football and the KC Chiefs.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Schooley; his mother, Aldena Billington; and his stepfather, Ernest Billington.
A casual Celebration of Life will be Friday, August 21, at the home, from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Children's Haven in care of Ozark Memorial Park.
