Sonny Wiles

William “Sonny” Everett Wiles, age 74, passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin.

Sonny was born in Carthage, Missouri on November 9, 1947, to the union of Everett Franklin Wiles and Lelia Marie (Moser) Wiles.

Sonny grew up in Carthage and moved to Chicago until he was drafted to the Vietnam War in May of 1969 where he served until April of 1971. 








He was a machinist, and then later owner & operator at Four State Machine Products for over 30 years, where he machined parts for a number of industries including parts that were used in the space program. He was commander of the VFW (Post 5293). Later, along side his wife, he owned and operated Redings Mill Inn for nine years. Sonny often handed out half dollars to kids who would be eating at the restaurant, many still carry them today.

Sonny is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Leonard Barryhill; two sisters, Delores Ruark and Patricia Thorton.

Sonny is survived by his wife, Rosalie; sister, Wilma Seely; and a host of extended family and friends.

The family would like to personally thank the staff of National Health Care for the compassion they showed Sonny over the past three years.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Alan McCamey officiating. There will be a time of visitation following the service until 4:00 p.m.

Cremation arrangements are under the special care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
