(From Weng Funeral Chapel) Joan Marie Weng, 83 of Reeds, Missouri passed away on November 11, 2022 at her home. She was born on February 17, 1939 in Carthage, Missouri to Thomas W. and Lelia F. (Estus) Melugin.
Joan was a homemaker and worked as an office secretary for the Avilla Seed Company and then for Day-McGuire C.P.A. She was a former 4-H leader in the Avilla 4-H club, served many years in the Avilla R-13 P.T.A., and was former member of the Avilla Extension Club. Joan was a member of the Centerpoint Christian Church.
Joan was united in marriage to Billy Joe Weng on June 23, 1956 at Carthage, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 20, 2020. Survivors include one son, Mark Weng and wife Mary of Jasper, MO, two daughters, Marcia Weng and friend James of Avilla, MO, and Melissa Allan and husband Chris of Carthage, MO, twelve grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Billy Joe Weng, brother, James Melugin, sister, Thomasina Willard, two grandsons, Landon and James, and one great-grandson, Bowen.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 2:00p.m. at the Avilla Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 from 6:00 till 7:00 p.m. at Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, Missouri. Memorial contributions can be made to Avilla Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
