(From Clark Funeral Home)Arthur Gene Chancellor was born May 26, 1934, in Goodman, Missouri, one of four children to Claude and Genevieve (Sheldon) Chancellor. He entered into rest on June 29, 2023, in Seneca, Missouri at the age of 89.
Arthur graduated from Goodman High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a purchasing agent for Gulf Oil, later Chevron. He and his wife, Linda relocated to Seneca in 1994.
Arthur enjoyed going to Hot Springs, Arkansas and attending the horse races.
On October 17, 1959, in Goodman, Missouri, Arthur and Linda Mae (Jones) were united in marriage and Linda preceded him in death on March 28, 2022.
Arthur is survived by two daughters, Mitzi Layton and husband, Tom of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Tina Hock of Branson, Missouri; three grandchildren, Christopher Layton, Sarah LaRue and Lindsey Hock; three great-grandchildren, Olivia LaRue, Maeve and Violet Layton and a sister, Patsy Upchurch of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Delbert Chancellor and J. L. Chancellor.
Arthur’s request was to be cremated and no services are planned.
