(From Parker Mortuary)Peter Kaufmann, Jr., age 67 of Joplin, Missouri, passed away at his home on his favorite holiday of the year, July 4, 2023. Peter was born on August 16, 1955 in New York, NY to the late Peter Kaufmann, Sr. and Dorothy Largent-Kaufmann.
Peter lived in South Huntington, NY. until moving to Kansas to attend college in 1973. He worked for Southwestern Bell as a Lineman for 35 years before retiring. After getting bored at home, he went back to work for O’Reilly Auto Parts, delivering parts to customers. In his free time, Peter loved to hunt, fish and most of all, spend time with his grandkids.
In August of 1977, Peter married Jolene Maneth and before getting a divorce in 1990, they had 4 kids. Sons, Peter Kaufmann, III and wife, Nicole of Neosho, Anthony (Tony) Kaufmann of Joplin, Mackenzie (Mack) Kaufmann and wife, Sara of Independence, Kansas; daughter, Hannah Hestand and husband, Michael of Joplin; grandchildren, Cooper, Gracie, Oliver, Callie and Kyla; siblings, Patricia Daneman of Candia, New Hampshire and Michael Kaufmann of Kennesaw, Georgia.
There are no services set at this time. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
