Anita Brichacek

We are saddened to announce the passing of Anita Brichacek, 80, born on Thursday, June 22, 1944, in Twin Falls, Idaho, left us peacefully of September 23, 2024. 

A devoted nurse, she dedicated her life to caring for others, embodying compassion and kindness. For thirty years she worked in nursing at Asbury Hospital, Salina Regional Health Center and lastly, with Salina Surgical Hospital. 








Her love for family and her faith shone brightly, and she found joy in gatherings and watching the game show network. Anita’s kind spirit and vibrant personality will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who knew her. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Brichacek on June 21, 1964, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Sylvan Grove, Kansas, sharing fifty-eight wonderful years of memories until his passing on February 9, 2023.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Eldor Orville Ulrich and Sadie Louise (Bigley) Meitler; husband, Kenneth Brichacek; siblings, Ruth Dorman, Peggy Sue Meitler, Larry Meitler and Paul Ulrich.

Anita is survived by her daughter, Teresa Stuart and husband, Gary, of Carthage, Missouri; granddaughter, Madelyn Stuart, of Sarcoxie, Missouri; sisters, LaDonna Gehring (Marion), Linda Jensen (Dale), Mary Lynne Meitler, Janelle Snyder (Frank), Melba Hirai, Karen Houston (Greg) and Paula Row (Gary); brothers, Ron Meitler (Barb), Ken Meitler, and Raymond Dee Meitler. as well as a host of other family and friends.








Funeral service for Anita, are 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Salina, Kansas with Pastor Dennis Kootz officiating. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery, Wilson, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or The Lutheran Hour in care of the funeral home. Bill Henson

William "Bill" Gale Henson, 77, from Cassville, Missouri, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at NHC Healthcare in Joplin, Missouri. 

Born to Orville and Rosa (Lyall) Henson on July 4, 1947, in Cassville, he was a proud graduate of Cassville High School in 1965. Subsequently he served in the United States Army and one tour in Vietnam. 






Bill married his beloved wife, Debbie Kisling, on August 28, 2009, in Cassville. An avid outdoorsman, he cherished the time spent hunting and fishing. Over the past five months, Bill has been battling a severe form of cancer.

He is survived by his cherished wife of 14 years, Debbie; his son Brent Henson and Brent's wife Heather of Eagle Rock; his daughter Brenda Henson of Carthage; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a brother, Don Henson of Springfield; and three sisters, Darlene Wierman of Cassville, Irene Bates of Shell Knob, and Dollie Sprenger of Springfield.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Orville and Rosa Henson, and two brothers.








Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, October 1st at 1:00 p.m. at the White Funeral Home in Cassville, Missouri, with Pastor John Hile presiding. Visitation will be on Monday, September 30th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Cassville.

Arrangements are under the direction of White Funeral Home and Crematory in Cassville, Missouri.

Betty Jones

Betty Lou Jones quietly passed from earthly life on Wednesday September 25, 2024, at the Good Shepherd Community Care and Rehabilitation in Lockwood, Missouri.

Betty was born July 9, 1930, the oldest child of Clyde and Anita Poindexter Jones, near Pilgrim, Missouri. She attended the Pilgrim Rural School through the 8th grade and high school at Everton. She was a member of the class that planted the grove of pine trees that still remain on the school playground today. Betty later completed her GED during night school.








On May 4, 1947, Betty married Charles Bernard Jones in Greenfield, Missouri, and was his faithful companion for over 67 years until his passing on February 14, 2013. Betty lived her life as a mother, farm wife, and homemaker. She was an excellent seamstress, cook, and pie baker. In her later life journey she became an avid quilt maker, and one year at Christmas she gifted 20 quilts she had completed for her family members.

Betty is survived by her five children: Wanda Kay (Dewayne) Rout; Patricia Ann (Chuck) Daniel; Charles Richard (Cathy) Jones; Stanley David Jones; and Linda Elaine Frost (Jack). Also surviving Betty are her loving sister Peggy Jones, and dear cousin Marilyn Fluty. Also, Betty was extremely proud of her 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. She also cherished her nieces, nephews, extended family, and lifelong friends..

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Bernard, her daughter-in-law Maggie Davis Jones, her parents, Bernard’s parents Willard and Florence Mallory Jones, her sister Joan “Jobie” Steeley, her sister-in-law Madge Jones Grisham, her brothers-in-law Sanford Steeley, Lawrence Jones, and Don Grisham, and her nephew Larry Grisham.








Betty was a baptized Christian, and a lifelong member of the Antioch Christian Church. She was actively involved with church operations and related social and community outreach activities, and enjoyed her time serving her God and her community.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Antioch Christian Church. Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Greenfield Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Antioch Cemetery. Services are under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.

Dennis Hendricks

Dennis Ray Hendricks, age 67, of Hallowell, Kansas passed away Monday, September 23, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.

Dennis was born to the late Henry and Veleta Hendricks on December 5, 1956 in Columbus, Kansas. He married Sharon Lynn Harris-Cupp on August 3, 1985 in Miami, OK. She survives of the home. During his life, Dennis worked as a Travel Mechanic for Railroad Contractors for 20 years. He also was a diesel mechanic and drove a truck for many years, as well as working at Calibrated Forms for some time in Columbus. Dennis enjoyed doing all sorts of work and activities on the farm, and he loved animals.








Preceding him in death in addition to his parents, are his brother Henry Dale Hendricks, sister LaRita Marie Hendricks, and his two mini dachshunds PeeWee and Curly.

He is survived by his wife Sharon, son Brent Cupp of Joplin, Missouri; son Terry Cupp; daughter Dana Clevenger (Jessie Lovell) of Joplin, MO; grandchildren: Jeremy Cupp (Kristie), Krista Cupp-Porter, Brandon Fancher (Samantha), and Dannielle Blauvelt (Catlin); 9 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sister-in-law Carol Moss (Joe) of Seneca, MO, several cousins in the Wichita, KS area; a host of nieces and nephews; and 2 daughters from a previous marriage, where abouts unknown.

Dennis has been entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home for cremation. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 2:00 PM. Burial of cremains will be at a later date at McKee Cemetery.

Kenneth Lane

Kenneth Paul Lane, 82, a resident of Joplin, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at The Communities of Wild Wood Ranch in Joplin, Missouri. 

Kenneth was born on March 4, 1942, in Cushing, Oklahoma to Alfred and Joyce (Daughtry) Lane. He went into the United States Army. 

After he was honorably discharged, he married Joyce Owens on October 7, 1966, in Missouri. 






He worked for years as an over-the-road Truck Driver. He also had worked, logging in the Cassville area in the Mark Twain National Forrest. He loved to drink his coffee and could oftentimes be found tinkering on something in the garage. He also enjoyed his cats, dogs and traveling and seeing places. He was onery and enjoyed giving his boys a hard time. His parents, Alfred and Joyce Lane preceded him in passing along with his sister Mary Bowling.

Those left to share his memory are his wife of 58 years Joyce Lane, his sons Terry Lynn Lane and his wife Kristy of Wyandotte, Samuel LeRoy Lane and his wife Misty of Monett, Missouri and Timothy Allen Lane and his wife Andrea of Seneca. Also surviving are his brothers Larry Lane of Crane, Missouri, and David Lane of Republic, Missouri along with seven grandsons and six great-grandchildren.








Graveside services will be on Monday, September 30, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Fairland Cemetery. Graveside services are being placed in the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairland.

Charlie Daniels

Charles Duane Haskell Daniels, 62, of Eucha, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024 at his residence with his loving family by his side.

Charlie was born on June 17, 1962 in Clinton, Oklahoma to the late, Thomas Wayne and Grace (Keith) Daniels. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a 2nd class Petty Officer on the USS Niagara Falls. He married Tonda Jean Barnes on November 3, 2006 in Miami, Oklahoma. Charlie worked as a Pipefitter, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, collecting guns, was a bargain hunter and a doomsday prepper.








He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Annette Daniels and Audrey Kay Hoffman, a step-daughter, Joy Lovelace.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Tonda Jean Daniels of the home; his daughter, Robin Dawn Daniels of Columbus, Ohio; step-children, Kendall Elizabeth Barnes of Eucha, Oklahoma, William Lovelace of Jay, Oklahoma, Christine Barnes Settlemeyer of Rockhill, South Carolina, Phillip Lovelace also of Rockhill, South Carolina; siblings, Joani Brown of Southwest City, Missouri and Alan Daniels of Maysville, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Charlie will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Southwest City, Missouri. Ryan Law will officiate. Cremation will follow the service.

Pauline Lewis

Pauline S. Lewis passed on September 20, 2024, at the age of 99. Pauline was born on February 24, 1925 in Everton, AR to Benjamin R. and Lucy Swofford. She worked for many years at Eagle-Picher Industries in Joplin.

Throughout her life, one thing stayed central to Pauline – her faith in Jesus and her involvement in church. She became a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Joplin, MO in 1959. She would go on to sit on numerous committees, serve on the Kitchen Team, and host women’s groups in her home. She prayed consistently for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.








Pauline stayed active throughout her life, enjoying activities like square dancing, swimming, walking, puzzles, card games, reading and listening to books, quilting, crocheting and baking. She created quilts and towels for friends and family, and shared her talents with her grandchildren over the years.


She is survived by two sons, Rick (Becky) Lewis and Larry (Janette) Lewis. 4 grandchildren, Justin (Stephanie) Lewis, Jessica (Ryan) Clements, Staci (Brad) Thompson, and Kristi Lewis. 8 Great-grandchildren, Grayson and Brooklyn Lewis; Calvin, Noah and Finley Clements; Brooke, Emma and Liam Thompson.

Memorial service will be October 11, 2024, at 1:00 pm, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. The family is thankful for the care she was provided at Spring River Christian Village and Good Shepherd Hospice. Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park of Joplin, MO.
