(From Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home)We are saddened to announce the passing of Anita Brichacek, 80, born on Thursday, June 22, 1944, in Twin Falls, Idaho, left us peacefully of September 23, 2024.
A devoted nurse, she dedicated her life to caring for others, embodying compassion and kindness. For thirty years she worked in nursing at Asbury Hospital, Salina Regional Health Center and lastly, with Salina Surgical Hospital.
Her love for family and her faith shone brightly, and she found joy in gatherings and watching the game show network. Anita’s kind spirit and vibrant personality will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who knew her. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Brichacek on June 21, 1964, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Sylvan Grove, Kansas, sharing fifty-eight wonderful years of memories until his passing on February 9, 2023.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Eldor Orville Ulrich and Sadie Louise (Bigley) Meitler; husband, Kenneth Brichacek; siblings, Ruth Dorman, Peggy Sue Meitler, Larry Meitler and Paul Ulrich.
Anita is survived by her daughter, Teresa Stuart and husband, Gary, of Carthage, Missouri; granddaughter, Madelyn Stuart, of Sarcoxie, Missouri; sisters, LaDonna Gehring (Marion), Linda Jensen (Dale), Mary Lynne Meitler, Janelle Snyder (Frank), Melba Hirai, Karen Houston (Greg) and Paula Row (Gary); brothers, Ron Meitler (Barb), Ken Meitler, and Raymond Dee Meitler. as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service for Anita, are 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Salina, Kansas with Pastor Dennis Kootz officiating. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery, Wilson, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or The Lutheran Hour in care of the funeral home.
