(From Midland Cremation Society)Mary Alice Manley, age 84, of Pierce City, passed away on September 19, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was born in Greenfield, MO on January 19, 1940, daughter of George Washington Dickerson and Annie Bell (Cox) Creviston. She had 14 siblings and graduated from Sarcoxie High School. Her job experience included working for reputable drug rep companies, State of MO IRS, Sarcoxie Shoe Factory, and Sunfresh Grocery Store. Mary was a devoted mother to 4 children, Mary Ann Finazzo, Sheila (Kathy) Panigi, Kurtis Eugene Hill, and Troy LaVern Hill. She went on to marry the love of her life, John Leroy Manley, on March 9, 1981.
A passionate doll maker and quilter, Mary spent countless hours with her designs, giving unique names to each one. These creations will be cherished by her family for generations. Her creativity and dedication to her craft were matched only by her love for country music and her family. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose kindness and generosity touched all who knew her.
Mary is survived by her 2 daughters, Mary Ann and Sheila (Kathy); 5 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She was preceded in death by her 2 sons, Kurtis and Troy; husband, Leroy; 4 brothers, J.O., Marion, Albert, and Bill; 3 sisters, Edna, Nettie, and Karlene; stepfather, Carl; and parents George and Annie Bell.
Mary will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her love, creativity, generosity, and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind. Burial will take place at Excelsior Springs Cemetery.
