(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Gene Patrick, 95, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.
Gene was born on January 12, 1929, in Diamond, Missouri, to Harvey and Gladys Patrick. He was a lifetime Carthage Resident. He worked at the Carthage Quarry for over 40 years. Gene was a member of the Three Point Church in Carthage. Together, Gene and his wife Dorothy opened their home and hearts to many foster children.
Gene was joined in marriage to Dorothy A. Phillips on August 27, 1949, in Carthage, Missouri; she preceded him in death, July of 2014.
He is survived by five sons, Gerald “Yogi” Patrick (Joyce), Randy Patrick (Junita), Darrell Patrick (Darlynda), Tim Patrick (Brenda), and Nick Patrick (Amber); six daughters, Kathy Conness (Richard), Brenda Evans (Joe), Kimala Patrick, Tammie Millard (Ram), Gena Hamm (Rob), Shawna Bayless (Tom); Gene considered two of the foster children his sons, Robert Hull and James Cochran; two brothers, Tony Patrick and Otis Patrick; one sister, Virginia Lee; 37 grandchildren; 88 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great grandchildren.
Gene was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Crystal Combs; great grandson, Lane Evan Combs; son in law, Joe Evans; daughter in law, Tammy Patrick; and ten siblings.
There will be a funeral service for Gene at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Three Point Church in Carthage, Missouri. His visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Three Point Church. The burial will take place at Fasken Cemetery in Carthage, Missouri.
