(From Clark Funeral Home)Dorothy Jane Gilstrap, age 92, of Neosho, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on September 17, 2024. Born on September 15, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Lennie and Leora (Lankford) Cox.
She married Wayne Gilstrap on September 24, 1949, and he preceded her in death on September 21, 1970.
Dorothy had an 8th-grade education and dedicated her life to being a loving homemaker. She took great pride in her cooking, sewing, and crocheting, often sharing her creations with family and friends. A true nature lover, she found joy in watching the hummingbirds and tree frogs that frequented her yard. Dorothy was a devoted member of the Church of Christ, where her faith and kindness touched many lives.
She is survived by her children: Leora (Charles) Stumpff, Doris McGinty, Kenneth Gilstrap, Jim (Debbie) Gilstrap, and daughter-in-law Karen Gilstrap. Her legacy continues through her eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Lonnie Gilstrap.

Visitation will be held on September 19, 2024, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at Clark Funeral Home in Neosho, Missouri. The funeral service will take place on September 20, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the same location, with interment to follow at Burkhart Cemetery.
Dorothy will be remembered for her warm spirit, love for her family, and the countless lives she touched. She will be deeply missed.
