(From Shadel's Colonial Chapel)Alvin Delane “Al” Hawkins, 81, of Seneca, Mo., died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, in Osage Beach.
He was born April 9, 1943, in Richland, Mo. to Alvin Everett and Irene (Walker) Hawkins.
On February 14, 1977, Al was united in marriage to Donna Nip.
After graduating from high school, Al attended Southwest Missouri State University for a period of time. Later, he worked in retail management for twenty-five years. Most recently he was the guest services manager for Tan-Tar-A and Margaritaville Lake Resort, until his retirement, after thirty-one years. Al was a Corvette enthusiast and a football card collector. He loved his life and the people in it. However, his greatest accomplishment was his family. He loved them immensely.
Al is survived by his wife Donna; one son, Alvin E. Hawkins and his wife Ana of Seneca; one brother, James “Jim” Hawkins of Wever, Iowa; brother-in-law, Phil Orita of Richland; Debi Scaturro-Baker, who Al considered a sister, and her mother, Shirley “Mom” Scaturro; his fur-baby, the Yorkie named Pe’a (little bear in Hawaiian) many of his son, Alvin’s friends, who also referred to him as “dad” ; several nieces and nephews; other relatives; co-workers, which he considered family; and countless friends.
Those preceding him in death include his parents, Alvin and Irene Hawkins; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herbert and Ethel Nip; sister, Gay Orita; sister-in-law, Lenny Omori; and Pop Scaturro, who helped raise him.
Celebration of Life Visitation for Al will be on Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 1-3 p.m.. at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel. There will be a celebration of life for Al on October 12, 2024, at Margaritaville Lake Resort (494 Tan-Tar-A Dr. Osage Beach, Mo. 65065) Time will be announced at a later date. There is no scheduled burial. His body is to be cremated.
