Tammy Valdez

Tammy Jo Valdez, affectionately known by many as MooMie, Mummy, Nana, Monkey Bear, or T.J., was a beacon of creative energy, love, and laughter. Born on August 6, 1969, in Lansing, MI, Tammy had an innate ability to bring joy and warmth to all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. 

As Robert Frost once said, “In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: It goes on.” Tammy lived by this principle, showcasing her resilient spirit, remarkable intelligence, and a radiant sense of humor that could light up any room.








Tammy was a woman of many talents and interests, but her heart was always directed towards her family and her passion for poetry. Her writing was a testament to her vivid imagination and her profound understanding of the human condition. Her creative prowess led her to become a published poet, a remarkable achievement that she took great pride in. Tammy was also a dedicated employee at Advanced Auto Parts, where she delivered car parts with a smile that was as reliable as her service. She enjoyed playing many games, finding joy and camaraderie in friendly competition. Whether in Longview, Texas, Leslie, Michigan, or Reeds, Missouri, where she resided for 13 years, Tammy's love for her children was always evident. As a loving mother, she made it a point to put her children first, instilling in them the same values of love, resilience, and humor that she carried within herself.

Tammy is survived by her Husband, Randy Valdez; brother, Timothy (Sandi) Ayers of Walnut, KS; sisters, Maria (Roger) Marks of Reeds, MO, Valerie Fisher of Reeds, MO; mother Elsie Ayers; daughters, Rebecka Catey, Samantha (Veronica) Catey; sons Robert Catey, Dallas Valdez, Joe Guy; grandkids, Kaleb, Kira, Nala, Sebastion, Lisha and Joseph Catey. 








She is preceded in death by her father, Phillip Ayers, who nurtured her loving and imaginative spirit. As Maya Angelou beautifully penned, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Tammy's legacy of love, laughter, and creativity will continue to live on through the memories she has left behind.

A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday September 24, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City, MO. Services for Tammy are under the personal care and direction of Simpson Funeral Home. Her life was a testament to the power of love, the importance of family, and the beauty of living each day with a joyful spirit. Her memory will forever be a source of inspiration and comfort to all who knew her.
