(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Mickey Ray Wittenmyer, age 76, passed away at 12:25 am, Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Galena Nursing Center, Galena, KS following an illness.
Mick was born October 21, 1947 in Baxter Springs, KS. His parents were Otho Arnold and Mae Elizabeth (Jones) Wittenmyer. He had lived in this area all his life.
He attended high school in Galena and Riverton, KS. He retired from Ozark Engineering, Joplin, MO working several years as a welder. He was also self-employed as a painter. Mick attended Tennessee Prairie Church, Galena. He enjoyed Golf and Fishing. He was an avid Raiders football fan.
Mickey was married to Judith Kay Davis on October 1, 1966, in Joplin, MO. She preceded him in death on November 2, 2013. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Michelle Wittenmyer, one son, Scott Wittenmyer, and three sisters, Saundra Frost, Patsy Fitch, and Donna Brewer.
Surviving are two daughters, Cassie Tash (Andy), Riverton, and Tara Wheelen (Marty) Galena; one brother, Mike Wittenmyer, Seneca, MO; two sisters, Sue Robinson, Galena and Dixie Janzen, Hays, KS; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 pm. Friday, September 20, 2024 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS. Norman Fry will officiate.
The family will receive friend from 1:00 – 2:00 pm, Friday September 20, 2024 at the funeral home.
