(From Daniel Funeral Home)Alene Juanita (Quade) Scott, age 89, of Golden City, Missouri passed away September 18, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.
Alene was born July 15, 1935 in Jasper County, Missouri to Ben and Rosa (Beerly) Quade. She graduated from Carthage High School in 1952, and was united in marriage to James Whitney Scott on January 28, 1955 in Columbus, Kansas.
Alene spent most of her life working a dairy farm with her husband and four sons, but she also took on many jobs outside of the home that she greatly enjoyed. One of the most worthwhile was as a cook at Golden City Schools, she loved getting to see the kids everyday and spend time working with her good friends. Before retiring, she also spent many years working in the office at MFA Propane in Lockwood, MO.
Alene loved to keep busy. She devoted most of her time to her family, hosting countless holiday dinners and spending her days loving on her grandkids and watching them all play sports. Through the years, she also spent a lot of time with close friends, doing anything from square dancing to cooking for the Lamar Rotary Club. The last few years of her life, Alene and her family spent every Christmas shopping for shoes for elementary students at Golden City Schools, and it brought so much joy to her life to be able to do this for them and see the happiness this brought the kids. She truly lead an extraordinary life.
Alene is survived by her four sons, Rusty (Jean) Scott of Springfield, MO, Dan (Lorrie) Scott, Max (Michaela) Scott and Bill (Charlotte) Scott, all of Golden City, MO; one brother-in-law, Bob Scott; three sister-in-laws, Carol Scott, Lawanda Quade, and Mary Lee Quade; Alene is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Alene was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her parents, Ben and Rosa Quade; her in-laws, Earl and Lucille Scott; four brothers, Arthur Quade, Leonard Quade, Don Quade and Ben Quade; one brother-in-law, Bill Scott; three sister-in-laws, Judy Scott, Judy Quade and Helen Quade and a great-granddaugher, Hallie Beard.
Alene reaffirmed her faith in Jesus by being baptized on June 19, 2021, at the First Christian Church of Golden City, so it's only fitting that her services be held there as well.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at the First Christian Church of Golden City, with burial to follow at Mitchell Cemetery in Jasper, Missouri.
