Carolyn Rose

A celebration of life will be held at 12 noon Sunday, Sept. 29, at the Kneeland Center in Liberal, Mo., for Carolyn Sue Rose, 74, Grove, who died August 26, 2024, at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Mo.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, Mo.

Memorial donations may be made in her memory, to The Shriners Children’s Hospital.







Survivors include her spouse, Gene Rose; brother, Dayton Long, Grove; sisters, Linda Frieden, Liberal, Mo. and Judy Bainter, North Kansas City, Mo.; step-sister, Debbie Mahurin; daughters, Amy Rose, Grove and Tammy Campbell, Greenfield, Mo.; sons, Kyle Farmer, Grove and Matt Rose, Liberal, Mo.; grandchildren, Justin Walker, Miami, Whitney Forst, Lamar, Mo., Shantel Green and Mariah Nelson, Joplin, Mo., Whitney Bradford, Rogersville, Mo.; Jordan Sheat, Orlando, Fla., Tori Beasley, Everton, Mo., Brittany Davis, Salina, Blake Farmer, Joplin, Mo., Derek Lively, Grove, Broc Rose, Butler, Mo. and Courtney Rose, Iantha, Mo,; 30 ½ great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Linden and Jesse Long; stepmother, Betty Long; stepsister, Lisa Hedgecorth and daughter, Misty Dawn who died shortly after birth in 1973.
 
Mrs. Rose was born March 15, 1950, in Bates County, Mo., to Linden and Jesse Long. She attended school in Irwin, Liberal and Jasper, Mo. and attended Cottey College in Nevada, Mo. She married Gene Rose on May 28, 1983, in Deerfield, Mo. The couple was blessed with four children.







 
She enjoyed being a Mary Kay Consultant for the past 30 years and a member of the Ladies Oriental Shrine ABBA Court, Tulsa, where she held the office of Past High Priestess. Nothing, however, brought her more fulfillment than spending time spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
 
Mrs. Rose and her husband Gene owned a small convenience store through the 90’s and then Gene’s Marine and Salvage the past 22 years. She loved living on one of her boats for five years, before her health started failing.
