Betty Hooker

Dorothy Elizabeth Hooker better known as “Betty” died at Freeman Hospital at approximately 1:30 am, Thursday August 21, at the age of 81.

 She was survived by: 3 daughters-Nancy Deisley, Parmela Stransheim, Janice Sattler, and 1 son- Allen Jack Hooker, 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Betty was a generous and kind soul-always helping others. She returned to college and received a Bachelor’s Master’s and PHD in clinical psychology. In her later years she was employed by the state of Arkansas as Director of Community Corrections where she developed the cognitive substance abuse program for convicted felons-giving back to the community by helping others to become productive members of society. She will be missed by all her family, colleagues and many friends.

 A memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am Saturday August 30 2014 at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
