Mary E. Scott, 73, of Pierce City, MO, passed from this life on Monday evening, August 4, 2014, while at Cox-South Medical Center in Springfield, MO.
Mary was born on May 11, 1941 in Exeter, MO, daughter of the late W.A. Ruark and Ruby (Pendergraft) Ruark. For many years she had worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse until her retirement in 2000. Mary enjoyed reading and fishing on Grand Lake.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas Bratton, of Oklahoma City, OK and Douglas Scott, of Neosho, MO; one daughter, Janice Bratton, of Purdy, MO; one sister, Laura Scott, of Washburn, MO; and her granddaughter, Melissa Bratton, of Corpus Christi, TX. Mary was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Ray Ruark; and one sister, Mae Snow.
Mary’s wishes were to be cremated and her ashes laid to rest at the Roach Cemetery near Table Rock Lake at Eagle Rock, MO. No formal services are planned at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
