Wilbur E. Jones, 84, Carthage, MO, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, after a sudden illness. Wilbur Eugene Jones was born April 14, 1930 in Golden City, MO to the late Presley L. Jones and Opal Owens Jones. He was a farmer and a member of the First Baptist Church, Carthage, MO. Wilbur is survived by his close friends; Danny (Sarah) Cawyer, Jasper, MO, Jon (Sheila) Carr, Carthage, Mark (Kelly) McCoy, Carthage and Doyle (Carol) Stanley, Riverton, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Willard and William Jones.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at Fasken Cemetery, NE of Carthage. Rev. John Davidson, First Baptist, Carthage, will officiate.
