Stephen J. Long, age 60 of Diamond, Mo. passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Joplin Health & Rehabilitation Center following a long battle with cancer.
Stephen was born on August 8, 1953 in Joplin, Mo., the son of James Robert and Dorcelene (Frerer) Long. He worked for 35 years at R.D. Dale Construction Company before his health forced him to retire. Survivors include his parents, two sons, Josey Long and his wife Mischa of Neosho, Mo., Jesse Long of Diamond, one brother, Robert “Corky” Long of Diamond, and three grandchildren; Alyssa, Avery and Aiden.
Graveside services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday August 12, 2014 at Stone Cemetery near Diamond, Mo. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
