Lawrence Wormington

Lawrence Wormington, 72, passed away October 18, 2016 in Carthage, Missouri. Lawrence was born October 23, 1943 in Purdy, Missouri to Otis and Ellen Wormington. He was a lifelong resident of Carthage and worked as a butcher for Wal-Mart. Lawrence loved horses and was a horse farrier for many years.

Lawrence was united in marriage to Loretta "Fern" Banks on October 30, 1961 in Purdy, Missouri; she survives. Lawrence is survived by two sons, Alan Wormington and wife Jinger of Jasper, Missouri and Richard Wormington and wife Juanita of Carthage, Missouri and two daughters, Micki Wormington and friend Debra Folks of Carthage and Lacy King and husband Richard of Carthage. He is also survived by one brother, Lavern Wormington of Monett, and two sisters, Rose Ellen Jones and husband Frank of Monett and Sharon Kay Wormington of Kansas.

Also surviving are 11 grandchildren: Diyana, Dalen, Danae´, Davion, DeBardre, Deighten, Kyndal, Kylee, Ciarra, Chelsea, and Mirana and two great grandchildren: Brenley and Brexton. One brother, Efton Wormington, preceded him in death in 1994. Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 24, 2016 at Ulmer Funeral Home.
